About Me

I'm Bast, sole author of this site and mid-20's developer. I am a fan of cats, fantasy novels, and landscape pictures. I work with Python, Rust, and web languages, although I'm not a big fan of Javascript and its flavors.

This site has its data stored as XML files, its rendering performed in python, and the static assets served with a bare rust engine. There is currently (almost) no javascript on the site, all effects are performed in css only.

While this site's weight varies, it generally comes up underneath 10kb of transferred data, and on local systems reloads fast enough to be within a single render frame.

Styling is, contrary to the usual <div class="classname", done with bare attributes (like <div classname>) because it looks better in the source, neat in the css, and because I figured it was something I wanted to try out. It should be compatible with all browsers, so let me know what you think!

This is also somewhat of a personal blog, so it will be filled with opinions, minor ramblings, and (hopefully) interesting subjects. You should not expect the contents to be infallible nor free of typos, but hopefully it's cleaned up and accurate enough to be a decent read.

You can find information on my blog's urls here.
